The Grocery Sack Killer is loosely based on the true story of Spokane’s notorious serial killer, Robert Lee Yates. It’s summer and Detective Sergeant Magnum Schultz is back in uniform working graveyards when she locates the first victim, a teenage  hooker. Strangled, plastic grocery sacks tied over her head and shot in the back of the skull.
     Meanwhile, hard-bitten, 60-year-old bounty hunter, George Rooney, has reunited with his adult daughter, Tanya, when he gets a threatening phone call. She says the caller is her no-good ex-husband. Since Tanya was foolish enough
to post bail and get the ex out of jail, Rooney is determined to get her money back for her, along with some cash for himself.
     While Rooney hunts for his ex-son-in-law, he encounters blond, blue-eyed Marisa, a prostitute. Rooney takes a liking to Marisa and her two young sons. When more prostitutes turn up dead, Magnum goes undercover to flush out the
killer.
